Robert Key Club

Robert Key was a young man, who was tragically killed in a car accident near his home in England in December 2006 at the age of 23. Robert was such a fun loving man, who lived his life to the full and always had a smile on his face. A week after his funeral, Robert’s family and friends decided to honour his life by setting up the Robert Key Club. Since this time, several events have been held in Robert’s honour which raised funds for Home from Home. These funds, which are being given through the Elton John AIDS Foundation, are being used for the setting up and running of one of our new associate homes in Goodwood. We are honoured that Robert’s family and friends have chosen to celebrate his life in this way and that children in need will benefit from all their efforts.

Peter Key embarked on a bike ride from Land's End to John O'Groats in June 2008 to raise funds for Home from Home. Peter did this in honour of his brother Robert who was killed tragically in a motor accident. So far £1500 has been raised to go towards the running of one of our new community homes. Peter (on the right) cycled with a friend of his, Alex Sharpe.

Cherry and Louis Barroul who live in France, hold an annual classical concert at their house in Provence to raise funds for charity. In 2007 they selected Home from Home as their allotted charity and these funds were directed towards the running of our Sibongile associate home. Their concert in June 2008 was the best ever and was attended by nearly 200 people and funds raised from this also went towards the setting up of the new Sibongile Home.
